Care instructions are here

This DE razor has a very nice matte black finish and knurling, pop your favorite blade in and go! If you don’t have a favorite, I suggest Astra Blades.

There are many videos on YouTube that show how to shave with a DE razor and how to replace the blade. If you’re new to DE shaving, I recommend trying a couple of different blades to find the one you love most.

To care for your DE razor, you’ll need to wipe it dry after use for good measure, and store it well. Otherwise, you’re good to go!

How to care for your razor:

The steel needs to be kept dry. So after each use clean it under water and simply wipe it off – toilet paper works wonders. Afterward, please wipe the blade with a little oil. (cooking or mineral oil works fine) I also highly recommend the tufCloth, can be found at most major retailers, including amazon. Your razor is sent to you with a coating from the tufCloth.

How to care for your wood scales:

Please keep the wood as dry as possible between uses. You simply wipe it off when finished and it will last a long time. If you’d like to apply another protective layer, I suggest tung oil. It keeps your wood feeling natural and looking great.

How to care for your bone or horn scales:

Keep them dry, don’t leave them in the sun. Horn can warp over time, there are many fixes for this online.

Key Points to Remember:

  • Always stretch your skin when shaving to avoid nicks
  • There are many techniques, choose the one that works for you
  • The key to a great shave is your preparation

How to: Hold a Razor

How To: Wet Shave

You’ll need a strop to keep your razor sharp both before and after each and every shave. Your razor comes sharp out of the box, so you won’t have to strop it the first time. However, after use and before your next shave, you’ll need to get a strop if you don’t have one.

There are many videos on YouTube to show the technique.

I have a large write up about stropping here as well.

Honing:

I have a specific set of honemeisters that I trust to hone my blades, these have all been vetted by me.

If you use someone else, of course you can, however, if they have issues honing the blade or cause an issue you will be responsible for the cost to fix and you will void your warranty.

What is this warranty I offer? It’s any defects in craftsmanship for the life of the product. It doesn’t cover things like – using the razor as a screw driver, or dropping it on the tile but for defects in craftsmanship, you’re absolutely covered by my warranty! 🙂 You can view and request here.
